I'm so thankful that my son is learning to dispose of toys that are broken or that cannot be used. He will always bring me an item and say Mom, I'm throwing this toy out, it's broken or a piece of junk. I always tell him, what a great idea, why I didn't think of that. My son is five and has been doing this since he's 3. He has no qualms about getting rid of toy that are broken. He has this love for going to the dollar store; we indulge once in a while. Most of you know the quality of a dollar store toy, hence my son's expression, this toy is piece of junk...he will learn...

If I find a toy that belongs to some other toy I place the item in a box, or Ziploc bag and keep it there for a month, if I never find the other part of the toy, I toss it. I ask my son of course!!!
